The modular ultra-lightweight non-magnetic multi-sensor gradiometer MagCart is an ideal tool for the geophysicist who is professionally working in magnetic surveying for archaeology. The modular design allows you to choose any of the available configurations directly in the field. Lightness and rigidity are ensured by selected materials and a well-engineered and field-tested design.
Select directly in the field one of the four available configurations:
We use durable and fully non-magnetic 51 cm (20'') diameter tubeless wheels. The optimized strength-calculated rigid frame is built from uniform carbon tubing of equal length for easy and intuitive assembly. The brackets are primarily made from 3D printed parts for reliability, minimal weight and easy replacement when needed. The frame is equipped with side handles for carrying the MagCart over obstacles. The MaxiMag console can be mounted in front of the cart handle or placed in a standard harness on the operator.
The MagCart is supplied in a carrier bag with dimensions of only 1×0.52×0.2m and a weight of 15kg.
Positioning
Magnetic survey for archaeology requires not only high-density data, but also extremely precise coordinate positioning of measurements. Two GNSS antennas can be mounted on a frame, and the high-precision GNSS modules integrated in our magnetometers provide centimeter-accurate positioning in RTK or PPK modes.
Works with any magnetometer
The non-magnetic cart can be used with any of our ground magnetometers: Overhauser MaxiMag and SmartMag or Cesium QuantumMag and SmartQuantumMag. The design of the devices is so unified that even sensors from the drone magnetometers AeroSmartMag and AeroQuantumMag, as well as the Cesium airborne sensors CSMx, can be mounted on the frame. This “omnivorous” design allows you to efficiently assemble a multi-sensor gradiometer from the entire range of instruments available for your project.
